Why do I need a Backflow Prevention Device?
This device is required by the NYS Department of Health and the Water Authority. All residential & commercial properties that wish to have an irrigation system are required to have this device installed & tested by a state certified tester annually, regardless of use of system. This device prevents contaminated water from entering not only your home's drinking water, but also the city supply.
When does it need to be tested?
Your Backflow Prevention Device will need to be tested annually, usually in the month in which your system was installed. We bundle the Backflow test with one of your annual services, like spring start up or winterization.
